    My highschool
I just received a Christmas message from my high school with a picture of the campus. Brings back so many memories...

    At home - still alive
The last couple of days have been absolutely surreal...

One of my grandmother's sisters owns a mountain overlooking a bay. She landscaped the side of the mountain facing the bay and built 4 vacation houses at the top. We spent 2 days there for my grandmother's 88th birthday.

Two days ago I got to swim with a dolphin and dance with a whale. And yesterday I entered a Jurassic Park like enclave and sat less than a foot away from a tiger eating a raw chicken.

This is the first time I've had the chance to use the internet in more than a week so I'm using the chance to say hi!

I'm going back to the Philippines for 3 weeks in about a week and I need a digital camera. Any suggestions? What do people use?

More on Mysto and Pizzi's JT remix
I love these guys! They blog and post vids about the stuff they produce and remix so you get a great behind-the-scenes footage about their music.

Here's the vid of them making the JT remix. I can't believe this is the first time they've done a trance/rave dance remix. In the middle of the vid, they bust out the electronic melodies on their keyboard and in the background you can see the other person raving. At the end, the turn off the lights, bring out the glo-sticks and turn their little room into a club. All they're missing is a strobe light.

The next vid has Mysto and Pizzi at a meeting with Jive Records. The best part is when the Jive execs get really pumped up and start raving in the office, complete with the punching, pointing, arm waving, and bouncing.

    [PoT] Seigaku, I rabu you!
I love the cover illustrations Ruru draws for the Love Prince yaoi doujin anthologies. I wish she would publish an artbook or something of her Tenipuri stuff. I'd be the fist in line to buy it.

[Heroes] Heroes - pretty boys with superpowers
I love Heroes. It's a great plotty show with lots of pretty boys. Just take a look at this Entertainment Weekly photo spread. On the right behold the sexy Spanish artist and the sexy Indian geneticist. Over on the left we have the sexy Italian brothers.

It is also a very slashy series. But what else can you expect with so many pretty boys?

The series' cute, pettable uber-uke is Peter Petrelli with the dreamy eyes and the girly hair. [info]just_katarin has a bunch of pictures of him here. He chases after the hot geneticist and the hot artist so that he can fulfill his mission to save the world while getting his flirt on. And he's REALLY touchy-feely with his older brother Nathan. There is much shoulder rubbing and hugging and cheek pats that are borderline caresses and "I love you's" and kissing. Which leads to lj discussion and even the cast members commenting on it (at about a minute into part 2 of the Heroes commentary version of episode 12)

There is fic to be found at [info]heroes_slash and smut to be found at [info]technosage's pornathons. You can watch past episodes online at the NBC site. If you can't find them there...let me know.

    Kyou Kara Maou
I just finished watching about 60 episodes of Kyou Kara Maou this weekend. Ahh...fangirling feels good after an extended bout of RL with quitting my job, moving, starting a new job, family and holidays and such.

Anybody have any KKM fanfiction recs or fanart rec?

And speaking of fanart, since my computer crashed a couple of months ago, I lost all my fanart site links and a ton of fanart. I have some of it backed up but my backup files aren't arranged properly (i.e. by artist). I may have to ask around to see if people can identify some fanart for me if I can't find the artist.

    What's up
Hey all! It's been a while. Unfortunately, I haven't been keeping up much with LJ but hopefully that will change (New Year's resolution #3). Lots of stuff has happened since I've last posted. I've quit my old job in economic consulting for a new one in financial services and moved from DC to CT with [info]katana28.

In the middle of transitioning jobs and moving, I've gone through a major makeover, went to Hawaii for 2 weeks for a cousin's wedding and reconnected with family and friends, and gotten a pseudo social life.

I've got a lot to post about but I don't have enough time to do it tonight. Suffice to say, I've realized how much time I've wasted either sitting at home or at work and I hope to change that. That's New Year's resolution #1.

    Cheap yaoi doujinshi for sale!
I'm selling a good chunk of my doujinshi collection. Most of them are $4 or less. Some of them cost more than that either because they are thick doujinshi or because I am particularly attached to them. Add $2 for shipping in the USA (please email me for international shipping costs). If you buy more than 1, you can save on shipping costs. You can click on the pictures to see bigger images. Sample pictures are available upon request.

Cheap Japanese yaoi manga! More than 50% off!
Extremely cheap yaoi manga in Japanese. All of them have very pretty art (you can look at the pictures of the covers to see for yourself).

These cost about $8 at anime/manga conventions and Japanese bookstores. I'm selling these at $4. Buy 2 for $7, buy 3 for $10, buy 4 for $12, buy 5 for $14.50. Shipping (via media mail) is already included in all the prices quoted if you live in the US. Please ask me for prices for international shipping.

The list of yaoi manga is under the cut. You can click on the pictures to see bigger images of the covers.

    My new obsession
I am now obsessed with House.

    1) House looks exactly like my British brother-in-law. Seriously. My sister TiVos episodes and makes him stand next to the TV so she can laugh her ass off at how much they look alike. He even has a black motorbike and leather biker jacket that look like House's. And I know he had the bike and the jacket before season 1 even aired. Maybe it's a British thing?

    2) Chase is hot.

    3) Chase has great hair. He reminds me of a pissy, prissy Draco Malfoy.

    4) I love Wilson. He's a cutie. However, I must say my feelings toward his appearance fluctuate between wanting to pet him since his hair looks so soft and he looks like a cuddly, brown-eyed puppy, and attacking his eyebrows with a plucker.

    5) House and Wilson are totally married and just don't know it yet.

Can you spot the untrained hip hop dancer in this vid?

I love Mia Michaels' choreography. I just may be willing to shell out the $300 to watch the Celine Dion show in Vegas to see the dancing. Especially if I get to see lots of Travises and Allisons dance with Mia Michaels choreography. What a sight that would be. I'm definitely going to get tickets to see the "So You Think You Can Dance" tour when it gets to my city.

Sorry I've been gone from AIM for a while. My home computer's hard drive is broken so I had to send it out to get fixed. I should have it back in 4-5 weeks. Right now I'm using my work computer at home which doesn't have AIM. AIM Express doesn't work for me on my work computer so I can't use AIM at all until I get my computer back. I am pissed that shitty shitty AIM Express will not work for me.

In other things, the show So You Think You Can Dance has eaten my brain again for yet another season.

Pie, I need those season 1 eps! Gimme! Gimme! Oh and if you get the chance, watch episode 4 again for Ryan Conferido trying to get through ballroom with Mary Murphy. Hilarious. And yet he still manages to look hot while doing so.

So you think you can dance...
Ever since the show "So You Think You Can Dance" has started on Fox, I've been trawling Youtube looking at various dance clips. I've found a ton of great stuff- awesome popping and breaking, awesome choreography, and awesome dancing from pre-teens, teens, and seasoned pros.

I hope people get to enjoy the vids as much as I have!

Just in case you haven't heard from me in a while, I am not dead. I am currently in CA having just had a wonderful overnight Napa Valley trip with my 2 sisters and my brother-in-law's sister last weekend.

I was holed up in a conference room for the past 3 weeks working like mad trying to get a project finished. Five days before the deadline (Friday, May 26), the team found out that we had gotten a 3 month extension. Surreal surreal day. At 3:30 am I was just leaving work to go home. At 10:30 am I was back at work for a 12:30 pm meeting. At 12 noon we found out we had an extension so the meeting was cancelled and the whole team went out for a late lunch and drinks on the company. At 3 pm my boss suggested I catch up with my sisters to join them for their Napa Valley trip. At 4:30 pm, I booked my ticket to CA, at 6 pm I packed, at 9 pm I was on a plane, and at midnight I arrived at CA.

The next day the 4 of us left for Napa at around 11. We made our first stop at around noon at this wonderful chocolatier called "Annette's Chocolates." They had exquisite wine truffles- a summer cabaret and a darker winter cabaret (they were very nice about letting us taste the chocolates we were interested in). I bought a box of wine truffles for my coworkers. I'm just hoping I bought enough.

We hit 2 wineries next and had a yummy lunch from a gourmet deli. Unfortunately, there was a ton of traffic and even though we rushed we did not make our appointments for the mud baths. We had to settle for mineral baths which were still quite nice. Frankly, after seeing how the mud baths looked like boiling pits of lava, I was not too keen on entering them. I loved my facial and ended up buying the fruit buffing cream and moisturizer used on me since my skin looked much better afterwards.

After the spa, it was already late (close to 6 pm) and since most of the wineries close at 5:30- 6 pm we weren't very hopeful about finding one that was open, but we were lucky and managed to find one. It was a beautiful chateau used as a winery and owned by a family. Wine tastings are only available by appointment or if the owner happens to be there. We were very lucky and got a wine tasting session with the owner. The wines were all limited production (there was a kind of wine with a production rate of 7 barrels a year) and only available directly from the winery. After such a great wine tasting experience, we didn't even bother looking for another one.

We were planning to grab dinner and watch a movie after but were sidetracked by outlet shopping. I bought a lot of clothes but I'm happy with all my new stuff and can use most of them for work. There was this one dress I bought though that I didn't need but just had to buy. It was a black strapless knee length dress from Ann Taylor that put me down $60 but which my sisters said I had to get. Unfortunately, it doesn't have an inch of give so if I gain any weight at all, I won't be able to wear the dress anymore.

We ended up checking into the hotel at 10:00 and getting dinner at around 10:35 at Panda Express. Panda Express was actually suppose to close at 10:30 but my sister stayed outside the door and pleaded with them to let us in. They were nice enought to let us in to get our tasty Chinese fast food.

That was pretty much our Napa Valley trip. I'll be going home to DC tomorrow and I'll be online at around 10 pm if you want to catch me.

    In a nutshell
    Things to remember about China:

    1) The airplane food was good.
    2) The hot boys on all the billboards and poster ads. Chinese Pepsi boys, I Chocolate You, Bi, and Se7en. Yum.
    3) Entering and exiting Chinese subway cars is hazardous to your health. Poor boy.
    4) MAAAAAA. June vs. snake - who can stuff the most dumplings down their throat.
    5) Yao Ming vs. ghetto t-rex.
    7) Chinese Chairman Kaga.
    8) The Chinese chefs reject our gaijin ways of vegetable carving.
    9) Chinese grannies rule the streets.
    10) Soda oishisou da.
    11) Deevolved pumpkin pie.
    12) The lost button a.k.a. how my China pants became hot pants.
    13) Let's get physical, physical.
    14) English lessons a.k.a. how we broke Dexter's brain.
    15) Dexter. I still can't believe everyone forgot to get his contact info. Just too adorable.
